This means that the music always comes first and the technology plays its role. The Lodge Studio was first established in 1979 by Robert John Godfrey and Stephen Stewart. We do most of our work for locally based bands - it is our forte and it is what we do best. In our experience it suits bands who get on well together and like each other's company. This is, geographically, a rather undescribeable area unlike "East Anglia" or "The South East", so an amout of waffle is required in order to explain.<br> <br> We are actually in Northampton town centre, Northamptonshire <span class="style20">Northants</span> which shares its county borders with Cambridgeshire  <span class="style20">Cambs</span>  Bedfordshire <span class="style20">Beds</span> and Buckinghamshire <span class="style20">Bucks </span>and Warwickshire.</font><p> <span class="style22">We do quite a few bands from </span> <font face="Tahoma" size="2" color="#FFFFFF"> Oxfordshire -  Oxon area and make use of our student style accommodation. Warwickshire - Warcs is also nearby as is Leicestershire  <span class="style21">Leics.</span><br> <br> Being a residential studio, we have many clients who visit regularly from further a field including Berkshire, Berks. Also from Sussex and Derbyshire <span class="style21">Derbys,  Derbs</span> as well as Staffordshire, <span class="style21">Staffs</span>. The Lodge also have customers from Hertfordshire,  Herts, and Essex. Also Surrey and Worcester Worcs. In other words, we cover the whole central England area centred on The Midlands.</font></p> <p><font color="#FFFFFF" face="Tahoma" size="2">Our main competitors are Hot Rock Far Heath and Fitdog.  Rooksmere is a newish studio.  Parlour  - Parlour Sound - is a new facility opened in Kettering near Corby, which somehow manages to always rank higher than us on Google. </font></p> <p><font face="Tahoma" size="2" color="#FFFFFF">Logicom is in Milton Keynes. Lost Boys Studios is also nearby. React Studios are in Buckingham. None of these studios compete with The Lodge in terms of Apogee sound quality.</font></p> <p><font face="Tahoma" size="2" color="#FFFFFF">Whilst Studio 1 specializes in recording rock bands, Studio 2 is great for voice-overs and spoken word. Voiceovers require a sound proof booth, which we have. Voice overs are recorded straight to disk and can then be sent via FTP or Email to the client at the end of the session for quick turnaround. </font></p> <p> <font color="#FFFFFF" face="Tahoma" size="2">Joe Willes, Jason Ducker and Max Read are the main engineers. Lee Canham is no longer a sound engineer at the studio. He's from near Kettering. In its day, it was also the most expensive to produce. Now, they rarely come onto the market and are much sort after.</font></p> <p align="left"><font face="Tahoma" color="#C0C0C0"><font size="2">You only have to hear a CADAC recording to appreciate that cheaper modern consoles like Audients, or budget project desks like Mackies are just not in the same league. The nearest thing to a vintage CADAC is a NEVE of the same era or a modern SSL.<br> <br> The CADAC in The Lodge was originally commissioned in 1976 and installed at the famous Battery Studios in North London where it was used to record some of the greatest recordings of the day (The Sex Pistols, The Police, Queen, The Who, Def Leppard and Duran Duran).
